There is obviously a lot of demand for ATHM's product. However, will lack of installers restrict growth?

Considering driving time, running new cable throughout a house, connecting to the computer and configuring the software, how many connections can one ATHM or cable installer put online in a given day?

Then...How many installers are there throughout the country that are devoted to creating ATHM connections?

How many days a week or month or quarter do installers work on average?

I think if you knew the answer to these questions you could pinpoint their subscriber growth rate. Also, without dramatically increasing the workforce, it will be impossible to create exponential growth, which will be necessary to sustain the current valuation.

Sorry if this has been brought up already.

It should be interesting to see how the market responds to the AT&T news. The fact that TCI cannot keep up with demand shows demand is huge. On the other hand, the article states that TCI was 50,000 behind goal. We need those 50,000 subscribers. Also, one of the selling points of @HOME has been the fact that AT&T had some control (a wise mentor, so to speak). Hopefully Comcast can take the lead. Now it becomes even MORE important that Comcast not be forced to switch to Roadrunner in order to get Time Warner's approval for Comcast to buy Media One.

If ATHM's cable partners(i.e..Comcast) exercise their right to renege on the exclusivity contracts they must sell their ATHM shares back to @Home for $.50/share. Since Comcast owns 14.6 million shares of ATHM that is a pile of $ to leave on the table.

Stock ownership of the cable co's:(shares of ATHM owned)
T/TCI 47.3 mil shares
Cablevision 10.9 " "
Cox 14.6 " "
Shaw 1.6 " "
Comcast 14.6 " "
Rogers 0.8 " "

They all have a vested interest to grow ATHM. Peter B
