<< Last quarter was weak, this quarter a miss, and in answer to a question, they would not predict a bounce in revenues in Q2. You would expect this if revenues were simply moved from Q1 to Q2. wj >>

All I see still is just fear.

A) I dont remember last quarter being week. What are you referring to?
B) Why would they predict earnings would beat expectations for a quarter that has not even started yet?? This would be so uncharacteristic of Wind River management.

It has been my experience professionally that more often than not - and contrary to common thinking, a bounce in revenues the following quarter do not occur when products shipments are delayed to the next quarter. If it were as simple as just forgetting to mail a letter, then indeed we would enjoy the increment for the next quarter.

This has to do with the fact that there is a fixed bandwidth of human resources in planning, manufacturing, postponement, rollout, etc. In this case, R/D, working 100% to follow through on this commitment for the managed switch product inevitably delays the entire train before it can leave the station. The next train cannot get into the station to pick up more passengers until this one leaves the station.

Hence, this is lost business.
