Alan J. Andreini Joins YSI Board of Directors

Owings Mills, MD ... Youth Services International, Inc. (Nasdaq: YSII) has named Alan J. Andreini, 50, executive vice president and director of Comdisco, Inc., a leading technology services company, to serve on its Board of Directors.

Mr. Andreini's responsibilities at Comdisco include human resources, corporate communications, the corporate budget, venture leasing, re-engineering and transaction processing. Andreini joined Comdisco in 1978, was named senior vice president in 1986 and executive vice president in 1994. He was elected to Comdisco's Board of Directors in 1992 and is a member of Comdisco's Office of the President. Andreini also serves on the Board of Directors for Hugoton Energy Corporation, InterWorld Technology Ventures, Inc. and Astor Corporation.

Prior to joining Comdisco, Andreini served as a vice president of Salomon Brothers in New York and London from 1973 to 1978, working in general corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and lease financing.

Mr. Andreini graduated from Princeton University and received his Juris Doctor from Rutgers University Law School.
