S- re:"Intel will have a very hard time breaking into Sun's market space."

You may be right, Sun is a tough competitor.

But don't forget, Sun's unit market segment share of the server business (according to IDC, March'99 report) is 4.2% in Q4'98 (down from 4.8% in Q3'98 and 5.9% in Q2'98 - and nearly the same as year before 4.1% Q4'97).

Dear Scumbria: We all know very well that INTC can do anything it desires, including raising HOGS if it wants. Many of you are far more expert than I in these matters, but it seems to me the high end server market is more of a limited NICHE situation. Fine for a company like SUNW but if INTC tries to crowd in all I see is reduced prices and profits all the way around. JDN
