As for the software group, bargain hunting lifted laggards PeopleSoft (PSFT), CompuWare (CPWR), Keane (KEA), Oracle (ORCL) and BMC Software (BMCS)... Fact that gains occurred on significant jumps in volume suggests that stocks may finally have hit bottom... Given that many of these stocks are more than 50% off of their respective 52-wk highs, potential for sizable recovery gains is considerable... Don't be surprised if group does the opposite of Yahoo! and rallies in reaction to earnings results, as it is hard to believe that actual numbers will be as bad as feared.
