Sony? Don't even start.<<

I wonder how many folks are going to come home and find out how well their stop losses worked for them today. When the momentum gets going like it did today mm shorts (what uptick rule?)can gun for the stops and do very well. Probably grasping but wonder if this announcement had anything to do with starting the run.

The Sony mp3 (netman/walkman) is going to use the memory stick. Not much of a surprise that Sony is going to get on the bandwagon of the breakout audio product of 1999 or that they are going to use their own memory format. I wonder how many mp3types are going to buy into a encryption / royalty system?

Don,

We could have bailed in the high 30's and put in a buy order at $17.00 at the same time. That would have been brilliant. Who would have figured???

It seems so unreal that the stock could unravel that fast and then zip itself back together so quickly.

It smells like a rat.

You would probably give your right arm to buy a chunk of those 45,000 shares at 18 11/16. But, FEAR WAS RUNNING IN THE STREET.

Yet another episode where we think the weak hands have been shaken out, but I am not so certain. Everytime it seems like those "on the fence" have left, others come to fill their spots.

Yes, be happy you're not the guy or the "OSP" who sold that huge block. Give that man a beer. Make that two.

Don Hess: nice post--I like your confidence.

Added a little to my position today just a bit too soon, at beginning of the rout, around 22+.

This volatility could be seen again.

If there's no news or explanation from management, and we see the stock moving again as it has today, then the positive for me is that there is also the possibility, maybe likelihood, that the stock will also again recover as people with some confidence and faith in the company and product come back in, especially as they might (rightly) expect another very good day trading opportunity.

Aus, if you read this--- today's another example why diversification is important in portfolio management.
