Nazis started bombing Belgrade on April 6, 1941
Natzis started bombing Belgrade on April 6, 1999

Coincidence?

Most historians, I believe, cite the principal difference between the aftermath of WWI and WWII to be that after WWI the concept was to punish Germany and keep her under the thumb of the winning countries, and after WWII the concept was to help Germany rebuild and join Europe as a responsible party. I think there is broad agreement that the Treaty ending WW I (The Treaty of Paris?? I don't have my reference books here) was a major reason for the ability of Hitler to rally the Germans to support for WW II.

Any historians here have a better take?
