Craig,

<It takes a big man to admit his mistakes. >

I must say that I am impressed with your learning experience. We all make investment mistakes, but the key is to learn from them. You seem to have done just that. Unfortunately, some here will never ever learn. When K7 falls short of the mark (like all the previous K's), as in making the company profitable, there will be those who will swear that K8 will be the salvation. They will resume spewing this benchmark comparison vs. that benchmark comparison never having the faintest clue as to what's going on in the marketplace. The history of this is well documented right here on this thread for the past several years. Despite trying to explain for several years that there is a huge difference between making a product and selling it, most fail to understand this critical point. Fortunately, a few people have been saved from making the same costly mistake you learned the hard way. The criticism I have received from some of the AMD faithful (mostly out of frustration because I have been proven correct at every turn) doesn't bother me a bit. It has been more than cancelled out by the thankful private e-mail I have received by the few who had enough sense to re-think AMD's long term prospects.

Re: your prediction of AMD at 5

I don't really think it will go this low because Jerry seems to be able to generate a endless supply of investing suckers. It is amazing that this stock can be trading anywhere close to 15 when so many stocks with much much better current results and future prospects trade at a fraction of this.

In the intermediate term I would say that AMD probably has more upside than downside potential although I still think it may drift down a little more as short covering slows. Short covering undoubtedly had a lot to do with keeping AMD out of the 14's yesterday. But as usual, the AMD faithful will probably push this thing up in coming months in anticipation of K7.

This stock is definitely a traders dream (unfortunatly I prefer the care free approach of buying/accumulating solid companies and holding). Traders can make a lot of money off of AMD. Long term AMD investors are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past because they haven't learned a thing.

<< I really don't give two hoots anymore about either AMD or CYRX >>

I don't like AMD management any more than you do, but...

Out of curiosity, as a former VAR and as a consumer, what's your view on a computer world with no competition at all for Intel? What happens then? Prices back in the stratosphere?...no limits to Intel's obscene profit percentages?...no incentive to innovate?...etc, etc??? Shouldn't we be rooting for someone, anyone?
