All,
I find it most unusual that Softbank should unsolicitedly release this news prior to the finalization of a deal. While the article says that Softbank is looking to invest in IDTC, and something may be announced within the next two weeks, the deal has not been finalized??? For what reason would Softbank pre announce this news unless it was "fait-de-complet"? Certainly, Gary E. Rieschel, executive managing director of Softbank Technology, had to know that IDTC's stock price would go up as soon as the news was released?

The only thing I could come up with is that the news was released now in order to induce another unknown company to join the investment also. Perhaps AOL?
Jules
