George: If you are not talking about Qcom:

1. Why continue to repeat your mantra here, and
2. The 'market' has been going up 'too far, too fast' for what, 8 years now?

Perhaps a review of your parameters might be in order.

Then again, you may be right. If that day comes - Good job, you saw it long before the rest of us. At that point, the question will be: did you act and profit from it?

I know most on this thread, acted and have profited to date. The prevailing feeling is that we will continue to do so.

I've stopped trying to predict market movements -- when I did try, I was typically wrong. Seems that's the case for most investment advisors too. Realize when advisors think that a correction is coming, this is viewed as a "bullish sign."

I guess to sum it up vis-a-vis investment advisors, if these investment advisors knew how the market was to perform they wouldn't be investment advisors, rather they'd be investing their own money full time.

For me, I don't play the short term, I am in for the long haul. 20 years til retirement.

Yes, I did forget October. What happened then? Couldn't have been too terrible, I'm much better off now then I was in any previous October. I think I'll just keep holding. Too many of my friends have been separated from their positions by just this type of blather.

. If you think this normal for stocks to go up this fast then you are a complete novice like 50% of the newbees investors out there. It is going to fast, that is the reality.

I didn't hear anyone say it's normal. Too fast, too far, no substance. George, let's save the posting space for those that have something of interest to say.

George - I, too, will get "sucked in" to responding to you. (You do have a "knack" for getting us going ...)

My gut reaction to stock price levels in general is much like yours : "Are you kidding ???"

But, in case you did not see it previously, check out these two posts regarding those wild and crazy guys who think stocks are rationally priced at these (AND much higher levels).

Yeah, I remember October...we've gone up more than 2500 points since. What a great ride. I hope you were along for the capital gain.
