Every civilized nation has agreed to accept without questions refugees who face injury if returned to their country of origin. The most generous for years, in guilt for their previous record, are the Germans. For many years parensa in Sri Lanka would load their kids (stripped of any identification and sworn to silence) on the plane to Germany. In many instances, the Germans sent these kids to expensa private schools. Germany is tightening up, but any sign that countries were refusing political refugees (as you suggest) would appear to me to be a return of barbarism. Most Americans, I suspect, have ancestors who were refugees. Had someone not received them, individually we would not exist.
