Dale, A catalogue of CPQ misdirects, blue smoke and mirrors this quarter alone could fill a book. Some I remember off the top of my head: "Sales are going great," a January pronouncement repeated here by GBH as proof that pc sales weren't in the toilet. "Feb was weak, but March is very strong." Even Jim Cramer picked up on that one to claim that PC sales were recovering. "Seasonal." O.K., all the tech liars use this one, but year over year declines have no seasonal component. And, now, part of the truth.

Yes, I maxxed out my credit cards to buy Compaq stock.

But, once again, it doesn't matter. Small co. that isn't the biggest in the industry by that much. <g>

Dale:

I agree that they knew from day 1 that they had problems. A while back, I posted a few comments about CPQ's end-of-Q4 inventory problems. Several others also provided details.

What a bunch of rascals,.... "warning" a week after the quarter ends. No wonder the class action lawyers are both rich and rubbing their hands in anticipation.
