Scumbria - "Your assessment appears to be lacking."

My Intel profits make up for it, but thanks for caring.

Scumbria - From a design point of view, what you say has merit. But from a manufacturing point of view, the past year has been a disaster for AMD. I don't know what specifically the problem is. Is AMD pushing the design to product envelop too fast to effectively be a viable competitor? There is more than one piece to this puzzle.

PB

For the past year, Intel's plan has been to bump up clock speeds by a few MHz, SSE, and throw an L2 cache onto Celeron.

In the meantime, AMD has doubled their clock speeds and introduced an impressive list of new products.

Your assessment appears to be lacking.

Scumbria, why do you choose past year and not past two years ?

AMD was the first to release 233Mhz K6 in 97 if memory served. And
they are now behind Intel. So who make progress better in the past
two years ?
