ed: Good post except that I don't think your conclusion re INTC is valid. AMD cannot go on losing $$ forever. They will be recognized soon as an unreliable supplier with a questionable ability to support their product. As standards for media and communication get worked out these things will be increasingly incorporated into the function of the cpu which will bode well for INTC. AMD caught up a little to INTC due to the bottleneck of bandwidth but given INTC R&D we are really comparing Mercedes to KIA or Jugo here.

Ed, Nice to know you post once in a while. Agree with you except on Intel.
They don't really have much competition from AMD. AMD is just there to keep the government off their back as long as possible.
