Zeev,

Dell had an analyst's meeting on Wednesday and Thursday.

In that meeting they confirmed that their growth rates (which are 3.5 to 4 times that of the industry) continue unabated; that they will meet both the earnings and revenue estimates.

About 10 days earlier, Kevin Rollins one of the senior VPs at Dell, in an interview confirmed that Sales were brisk, that pricing pressure was quite moderate in the corporate environment, etc.

Methinks the king, CPQ, is in the process of turning its crown over to DELL. It may also be stumbling due to the integration of DEC at the same time that it's trying to convert to the Direct Sales model which DELL has so successfully innovated with.

Any impact on the Semi Equip sector on Monday, IMO, would be a buying opportunity that will be realized as soon as the earnings season gets into full swing... i.e. within 10 days.

FWIW,
Ian.

Zeev,

<< what do you think will be the impact of CPQ's warning, Friday, on
the semi equip. sector?>>

I think that most are considering Dell's comments about demand strengh and will conclude most of CPQ's problems are due to their failure to execute. So the effect on semi's will not be significant. On the other hand if analysts doubt Dell's comments, the scenerio will pan out much differently.
