Victor,
I agree with you that the worldwide market for computers will continue to grow rapidly. The question for CPQ, DELL and the other big US manufacturers is whether or not they will be able to compete with the emachines.com and idot.com's of the world who are providing a cheap entry into the internet. I just don't know if the growth in services and peripherals, esp. for the corporate markets, will be enough to justify the still enormous valuations for the top box makers.

victor...RE:"CPQ went from $23 to $38 and then from $23 to $51 last year"

This was while the rest of tech market was also going up and
3 interest rate cuts. There were several catalyst that moved
CPQ stock last year. What will they be in 1999?
Many market catalyst "trumps" were already played out in 1998.

EARNINGS 15X OF Q1 in 1998....WOW!!!!....this is true...but,
at that time investors bought promise of future expectation.
This is based on credibility and trust. Where is that credibility and trust CPQ management now?

Hope all the milk got delivered, this morning.
Remember: "don't cry over spilled milk"...or CPQ stock.
Did you have to milk the cows too?
