catcher: For one thing CPQ has a significant share (40% something if I am not mistaken) of the sub-zero segment and most of them are funneled through the channels. I am sure you heard about CPQ's channel stuffing and inventory problems through the press,I suspect a lot of these AMD machines are sitting somewhere gathering dust,either at the channels or at their warehouse.

As for the auto analogy,it is not necessarily true to allude if Ford is having problems that GM also must suffer from the same ailment.I thought somebody just posted something on it here either yesterday or today showing the very thing from quoting recent press report by the two ,you may want to look for it in case you are not convinced.
