Stephan, it is academic what levels CPQ will hold at. CPQ had all the pieces ... Tandem, DEC, the Alpha chip, Alta Vista. In a market climate where they had an enterprise chip at least one-year ahead of INTC's and in a market where the internet sector has been hot for the last six months, CPQ blew it. No execution, period. I could care less about the channel stuffing, channels clear out. But CPQ is showing they cannot execute to capture the edge for the future. SUNW and HWP and IBM will get the enterprise server market, INTC will get the enterprise chip market, the edge that Alta Vista had is going, going, gone. A real shame for a gem like Alta Vista to be wasted.
