The loans are backed by the countries natural resources in case of default. Do you know of any banker, anywhere, who will lend money against collateral that the bank has absolutely no chance of recovering in case of default? If you do, can you introduce us? The thinking of the time was that communism could be the godsend of humanity, curing poverty and want and so forth. A little for everyone, no more want. Are you suggesting that international bankers subsidized the Russian revolution as a noble experiment in social engineering, an attempt to eliminate poverty and want? I never knew that the great financiers of that day were so thoroughly liberal and altruistic. Can you produce documented evidence to support these claims? The atheist country killed 40-50 million! An inappropriate comparison. Communism is as much a religion as Christianity, and has the same unfortunate tendency to require conversion by force. All absolutist philosophies, whether religious or political, are equally dangerous.

One thing I remember about the New Economic Policy in the USSR was that Henry Ford (a notorious antisemite) invested in and helped the Soviet government get started). After Lenin's death, Stalin (a notorious antisemite and alleged murderer and widely suspected of being a communist) concentrated all power in his hands. He defeated and expelled Trotsky (of Jewish origin but never Bar Mitzvad) and later had him murdered. The Moscow purge trials were aimed particularly at some people of Jewish ancestry. A Jewish Autonomous Region or State was established and Jewish was a an official nationality of USSR. Beat Israel as the first Jewish state in 1850 years. After the war, there was an alleged Jewish Doctors' Plot involved in the murder of Stalin (1953). There appears to be a profound conflict between Stalin's notorious anti-semitism and the alleged domination of the communist party by people of Jewish origin. All religions were repressed in USSR, although there existed a government controlled Russian Orthodox Church. Anyone who wished to get ahead abstained from religion except the official communist clubs. Please recall that Solzhenitzyn was himself an officer in the Red Army. I don't know if he was a party member but he must have been approved by the Party. Very few people have clean hands and hearts in a system like that.
