Wes,
Thank you for your post. DELL is #1 and I have held both DELL and CPQ. I sold all my shares of CPQ to buy DELL. CPQ is still at $30.00 and DELL has split 3 times and is @ $44.00. Figures don't lie.

NEVER EVER SELL DELL

Dorine

Wes

I don't think anyone out there thinks DELL is in any trouble whatsoever from PC competition. Not from IBM,CPQ,HP or any of the majors.

The concern among analysts lies in the future direction of tech. Some observers note that of the 5 loose groups of tech ( see SI Groups) leadership in performance is slowly moving from "computers & periphs" to "miscellaneous" specifically Web based services.

The US economy is generally grouped into 12 distinct economic sectors, from Basic Materials to Utilities. Most SI members have long recognized the superiority of the Tech Sector (vs say, the Capital Goods Sector) Amongst Tech, the WINdell trio has clearly been the most formidable for the last decade or so. The next decade will probably be different.

The question of course becomes WebCentricity vs PCcentricity. Or put differently; Is AAA* taking over from WINdell?

B&H

* AAA-here would stand for AOL,ATHM,AMZN et al

Full disclosure; Own DELL for several yrs. Still my biggest holding. Still have concerns. Still haven't sold a single DELL.

Wes, -- more evidence that PCs don't have to be "just boxes." Thanks for the post. Congrats on getting into Dell a year earlier than I did.
