Goolie, sorry don't have the competition info but just to add to what you said when you talked about the brokers like EGRP and AMTD. Internet Banks are going to have a much higher retention rate than brokerages which means that the first players will have an even more solid advantage. The reason I say that is that net banking is not transaction intensive like online trading. You don't lose money if you can't get on the system in 2 minutes. Once you set up an account it takes a lot of work to switch unless the service or website is lousy. I know some of us have complained about the customer service of NTBK, and I think they still need to address this much better. But the point is it's not enough to make you leave because overall NTBK saves you time (bill pay) and makes you more money (interest rate). Yes NTBK has a brokerage division but it's not their main focus as a company. You can also look at it this way..think how many times you have changed brokerages in the last 5 years. Then make the same comparison to the banks you've changed (not due to moving, doesn't count). I would say most have changed brokerages much more frequently.

New Buyers Beware!!!!

Daytraders love to hype a running stock to lure in those that will buy high!!! All of these numbers presented are smokes and mirrors!! NTBK has no where close to the assets you claim and I doubt they ever will.

Big deal they are one of the first internet bankers. Anybody here old enough to remember Osborne Computers, the first portable PC. Guess what?, they were driven out of business by bigger, more well-know companies. Same can happen to the next AMZN!, lol You say competitors won't offer same services? Hello!! my little credit union already does!!!! Why would I wait one month to put my money in some unknown place, when my local banker offers the same!! It is just a fad for internet nerds, mainstream America ain't gonna go for it! (Put yourself in your parents and grandparents place, would they put all their money in an internet banking account?)

Don't get fooled. Wait for pullbacks to buy stock and, whatever you do, don't give your broker a market order to buy or you'll find (like some poor saps on Friday) that they own NTBK at 128 1/2, when it closed at 119.

All stocks that runup with little news, but mostly hype, will always correct themselves and NTBK will be no exception.
