Yes, I too know from experience to double check which account one is in when making trades <G>.
I trade in my IRAs all the time so it would be a very BIG negative not to be able to do so.
Can you short stocks in IRAs at ABW? You can at Schwab providing you have the cash to buy it back, I think. I was under the impression you couldnt short in the IRAs until I accidentally did and they let me......but made me 'promise' to cover. I assume it was because I had enough cash there to do so.
