Baton, briefly. . .Thanks for compliments. Did not see article from USA today. . .perhaps you can post a link for us all. . .I am always interested in ways of transmitting digital signals. . .right now we are using satellite, microwave, cellular, fibre-optics, cable modem and ADSL. . . .don't know of others, but that doesn't mean there aren't other ways. . . Broadband is literally "high-bandwidth" or high-resolution as compared to the slow speed data that we are accustomed to with our slow 56K modems, ISDN, T1, T2 and even T3 lines. These have served us well for text, but a simple photo can take from a few seconds to a few minutes to download. . . broadband starts at about 850K [30X a 28.8 modem] and goes up to virtual light speed. The "Next-Generation Internet" will use live-action video with sound, much like our TV sets, but will be totally interactive. There is no possible way to use the equipment we have now to make this work, so there are many new products, backbones, services, etc. coming to make this magic into an everyday necessity. Our job is to figure out the winners from the losers before it becomes clear to Wall Street, then heavily invest in them. I think CPQ at 25 would be a great price. . .but I really don't think it will get there right away. . .maybe later this summer, but there is just too much interest. I think it will go to about 26-27 briefly, but will settle in at 28 for a long while. Hope this helps. . .best wishes. Rande Is
