jbe, Maybe you don't give it much thought, but properly working sewage systems are important to controlling the spread of disease. Witness the rapid spread of diseases in third world countries that don't have such systems.

A good sewage treatment system isn't poetry, but they are beautiful. My husband used to design them; now he examines patents relative to water treatment and water purification. Clean water is beautiful.

Sometimes I dream about sewage treatment plants. Honestly.
