So how do you see CPQ's problems as INTCs?

Compaq is looking for ways to avoid sending 60% of their paychecks over to Santa Clara every month.

This includes more cost effective AMD and Alpha solutions. Intel is trying to stem these losses with Celeron, which takes a major toll on Intel's bottom line.

Maybe Compaq's problem was that they shipped too many AMD chips that people really did not want. Consumers probably wanted the PCs with the Intel chips.
We will find out soon.
