I'v also seen those Black-Scholes numbers tossed in at the end of MSFTs numbers.

My question (the same question I posed to MSFT investor relations with no response) is this:

You can offset the liability of ESOPS by buying calls to cover, but what kind of term? You'd have to buy a whole round of new leaps every couple years. I think they treat it as a one time shot, when they'd really have to keep renewing their calls.

Which also brings up the following point. If I went to the CBOE and bought a bazillion MSFT 2001 50 leap calls, the price would shoot to the moon. How do they account for this?
