Gary, >>>He is playing a very clever game<<<

I agree. He makes a mild downgrade, not like the bold statement he made wrt to Dell where he predicted quite precisely Dell's revenue shortfall. If revenues are down only slightly, Niles reputation gets a big boost. Otherwise, he didn't really call for a bad quarter.

Intel's revenue and earnings will be pretty much as managements guidance stated. Intel, and CB, are both pretty predictable as far as that goes. The spin afterwards on the comments made during the cc will establish Intel's current valuation.

Intel, for some strange reason, is highly susceptible to negative spin. Most of it, I can understand. You want to create a reputation or you want to move the price of the stock in your direction.

What I can't understand is the vehemence of all those without a financial interest in Intel's fortunes, who appear on this thread and spend an enormous amount of time and ingenuity highlighting and creating negative news - a lot of which is outright false or somehow transparent in their desire to see Intel investor lose money.

People get their kicks in strange ways.
