Stockman
If your premise is true then we are in for a treat.
My present concern is the numbers for INTC tomorrow. I heard part of a blurb at noon on CNBC that INTC was heading a 'new' direction.
Anyone catch that?
Craig

Scott, added 150 shares at limit order of 40 at the open. GO DELL. Also took a flyer in RNWK 2 days ago and INKT once again yesterday. I commend these two stocks. They provide the Internet with its search engine speed and with picurtes and sound (RealPlayer.) They may move like AOL.

Scott;

I've got a feeling that any further alliance between Dell and IBM, and the announcement thereof, will be be held at least until Dell earning's date. This can/will then be used much like last 1/4's split was used - to fortify the stock in the event that the numbers underwhelm. And, IMHO, in the current environment for boxmakers, it appears to me that anything short of record setting growth in earnings and mkt share is going to be viewed as underwhelming.

Regards,
JT

stockman: It is the corporate culture of IBM to afford losses like those at the pc level. I actually doubt that Dell will interest IBM at a price which makes any sense at all for Dell. The way to beat IBM, is just the way dell is doing now. My vote is--the hell with the bargaining table. You have to understand that IBM's ego is tied to their control of the enterprise---and Dell is getting too close to some of their important relationships. The war will be won DEAL BY DEAL. IBM will never cave in in any way which is going to give Dell a better chance at what IBM views as THEIR ENTERPRISES. I was in sales at IBM.

stockman: please note my corrected post re ibm vs dell. I am sure you already knew my mistake. I am trying to focus concern on winning large contracts ---contract by contract. THIS is what is REALLY benefitting Dell. Not raiding cpq staff etc. I really believe that any potential Dell employee realizes the strength of Dell FROM TRYING TO COMPETE WITH DELL. This is the well known "secret" of how IBM got to be powerful---in those days before they went down. It was the marketing force that did it.
