Pump and Dump

Shame on the guys who are manipulating this stock.

The company is a relatively good company. I have followed the company for a couple of years and almost went to work with them last fall. I have been on the training course (Knowledge Studio) and the technology is good. Eric Apps has done a great job of controlling the expenses. As well, these people are honest and do not deserve to have people manipulating their stock.

I have bookmarked this site for the last year. There were more messages on Thursday and Friday then in the entire last 6 months!! These people were pumping the stock NO DOUBT ABOUT IT.

The company's revenue had a spike last fall due to the Hummingbird deal. The most recently completed quarter (Feb) is the one that will count the most.

People aren't talking about the competitors. Be clear, if SAS gets their act together in this area, Angoss can be hurt. Both Business Objects and Cognos (orginally from Angoss) have data mining offerings to complement their Data Warehousing offering. IBM tends to give away their data mining software in order to get the services revenue. Finally, the data mining area has been extremely tough. These companies have not been profitable.

At .20, the company is already trading at 1.5 - 2.0 times revenue.

Do some due diligence before you jump in and of course I wish Eric, Ken and the rest of the gang at Angoss the best.

John

I'm not an expert in data mining software but in essence the software is used on large databases such as Oracle, or Sybase, Informix.

I know that Cognos Powerplay, which is a data warehouse-reporting program, actually will query the database and extract data and rebuild it into another structure where users can run canned reports or create new ones.

These types of software packages have to be programmed to work with the main data warehouse by technicians. They are not programs that you can let loose on the database to look for patterns and trends, they just report numbers in a pre-defined way.

Now if there are any techeys out their I'm sure they will correct me.

The beauty of Angoss software is that you can let it loose on the data warehouse and see what it discovers with no pre-defined ideas of what you are looking for, or so I'm told.

I have not personally used it, so if anyone would like to correct me please set us all straight. I don't mind criticism.

This is a long-term play, but I really feel good about it. It may fall back and it may not, but it's worth the wait.

One thing I know for sure is that as the Internet gets more and more popular and these large databases of shopping demographics are built into millions and millions of rows of data, you will need a tool to scan the data and look for trends, what sells, what doesn't, how many hits does the competition get etc.

Microsoft Access is just not capable of handling this volume of data and is very cumbersome to use when creating complex reports, which I know from experience.

Cheers
