Goodboy, For Iridium to succed would require that the rapid downwards curve of standard cel phone cost and coverage to stop and plateau at current values. This will not happen.
So every day a smaller and smaller area of the earth is exclusively served by Iridium. Even the telecom dictatorships will let the cash cows of standard cell phones enter and where they enter Iridium is doomed. There are not enough desert nomads to make a client base. On top of that they are not the only global game in town and latecomers are eating their lunch(with the exception of telecom dictatorships where Iridium signed fat exclusive deals to keep other services out)

<<Stiano is putting his money where his mouth is. He just filed that he bought 25,000 Iridium shares. Are his emotions getting the best of him?>>

Maybe he's following the example of Bernie Schwartz who stepped up and bought 100,000 shares of GlobalStar on 3/31, although I don't know the date of Stiano's purchase, offhand.
