Interesting discussion going on here.

Discussing Dell

Also among Monday's most actives was Dell and Raging Bull's message boards had Dell holders talking about what to expect. PeterL... "When you talk about earnings, there are two different subjects. Spammer whisper numbers or actual growth. If what you want to know if Dell will run up to outgrowing the competitors by several times, that's guaranteed. If you want to know if they'll beat any number the spamming Wall Street throws up in the air this time, that's fairly possible, but unpredictable. Coming on top or very close to it should be very easy for Dell at this point unless they suddenly raise estimates. But they wouldn't do that simply because it would mean Dell is doing great and the stock will rocket at the expense of the Net hypes, which they want to keep juicing for a little while longer." And Paul-K... "We just went through a shakeout in the last earnings announcement that beat the Street. The market is acting very cautious right now and it's acting like the bear is at the door and ready to come in. Usually Dell on good earnings goes up rather quickly, but this time it is taking a little more time to recover."
