AOL - I think their strategy is to wind up as a cable ISP.

But how do they do that since they've declined to make the investments that ATHM, RoadRunner, and others have already made? AOL can easily be an internet content provider to @home users or anyone else. If their content is compelling enough that folks are willing to pay extra for it (as we all do here for GNET's content), then they can even add redundant proprietary interfaces to those who pay for them and get subscriber fees for that. But I don't see how they become the access provider in this round since they've failed to spend the billions it would have taken to play in this sandbox.
