Rose, I'm struggling with TA too...Dow Jones University at www.dju.com has an online course that explains a lot for $49.95...I'm wading through it currently...also there's www.clearstation.com's education area(free)-I'm still trying to get stochastics & MACD & they assure me is isn't rocket science...this is my 1st post here, but it's a really informative thread-very happy to have found it...

Rose, What a nicely written post about how quickly money can be lost. It is all too easy to get caught up in the wins and forget how easily losses can come to all of us. I think we all need to recognize that for every person out there celebrating their wins, there others out there who have not had a great day and are struggling to keep perspective on everything. I have been there many days myself. I commend you on your tenacity and wish you all the best...MMK

Dear Rose, I called you that because you seem to be a "Dear". Even those of us who post of good times and profits have battle scars from this market. Big Scars. I still carry some losers in my possession that represent huge losses, mine not as bad as my husband..who has been involved with investing 20+ years.. and has had every trick played on him by gurus and brokers and all...it is a crying shame all the hard earned money gone.. BUT, now that I have wised up and am spending volumes of time studying and reading and really trying to be careful what I do, and with the help that Jenna and the group have provided, we are doing okay. I have my husband reading books now, and learning TA..(Know what is interesting? I am teaching him the new things that I am learning, and he is the one who has handled the investing all these years...) I am really cautious about the stocks, about the number of shares I buy, often I will just sit and watch..afraid to act. When you have been burned, you are afraid of fire. I really am humbled by the success just recently experienced..they say that money isn't everything, but, boy, it sure helps us enjoy everything! We have a wedding in September for our daughter to pay for, college for another, down payments on houses to help kids get into their own homes..and of course our retirement years.. This must be confession night here it looks like uh? Best to you, Adelle
