Agreed with you on the second, not on the first.

I'd say "opportunistic and devious." And I'd add "egotistical." That's the textbook definition of a successful trader. Worked with them for many years and never liked it much myself.

But if you want to understand after hours trading (or, for that matter the first 30 minutes tomorrow) you've got to have a handle on how those guys think.

For myself, I find it amusing, but not relevant. I'm not trying to make a killing on the open or to move the stock after hours. Knowing that these guys are doing it and that it's mostly irrelevant to me, gives me peace of mind when I pull up the quote and it's significantly up or down in a few minutes...

SAN FRANCISCO, AFX : Intel Corp and Advanced Micro Devices Inc announced price cuts of up to 43 pct on their chips.

Intel cut the price of its Pentium III 450 Mhz by 17 pct to 411 usd in quantities of 1,000, and at the low end cut the price for its 300 Mhz Celeron processor to 106 usd from 187 usd, a 43 pct cut.

The 500 Mhz Pentium III has been reduced to 635 usd, the company said.

Intel's' 400 MHz version of its Celeron chip was also cut 23 pct to 103 from 133.

Intel also cut the price of its Pentium II Mhz chip to 397 usd from 476 usd, and the 400 Mhz Pentium II was cut to 284 usd from 237 usd.

AMD cut the price on its K6-III 450 Mhz chip by by 16 pct to 397 usd from 476 usd, while the K6-III 400 Mhz chip will fall to 237 usd.

The price changes became effective Sunday.
