The @Home CFO was on CNNfn tonight. From my perspective, there were two things that stood out.

First, he said that a 'big thing' coming this q/summer? is that cable modems will be made available in stores for consumers to purchase. He implied that this would speed up the installation process and enable @Home to quicken the pace of adding new subs. I don't quite understand how this will helps.

Second, toward the end of the segment the interviewer asked the inevitable question about some sort of alliance with RR. This guy bent over backwards in laying out the olive branch. I thought he was gonna get on his hands and knees and beg RR to accommodate some sort of arrangement. It looks to me, in spite of what any of the experts say, that its inevitable that some sort of alliance with RR.

Robert,

I couldn't agree with you more, we are rapidly approaching the time when the cable hook-up will be a "do-it-yourself" project. My numbers were just meant to show that ATHM is "on plan".
