On your first point, the new modems will comply with a new industry standard and will be self-installable. This means you don't have to schedule an installer which saves losts of time and money and will GREATLY accelerate the rampup in subscribers.

On your 2nd point, I agree - it makes a great deal of sense and now that they have agreed to work together on the voice side, it is only a matter of time, IMHO, before they join on the data side.
