The MSFT weakness is more likely an industry weakness. If you have noticed the tech sector has not been all that great. compaq put some doubt into the market. Even Intel's good news earnings was not enough o bring Intel's after-market trading in an upward direction. I think that the investors feel that since 13% of Intel's chip sales are from Compaq that bad news for Compaq is bad news for Intel. Also, it wasnt too many days back that IBM announced that their PC Division also announced a loss. The Compaq news was not all Compaq-only problems (although I think that compaq is having a very hard time swallowing and digesting DEC and we are seeing that now).

Another thing that I my fingers will have a lot of trouble typing - even though I still prefer the Netscape browser over I.E.5, I have to admit that for some reason IE5 is quite a bit quicker at retrieving web pages. I dont know how, but it is. It is actually a product I can say is pretty impressive.

(Now lets not let this all get to all your heads folks - one product is not a good response to the CRAP NT and Active Directory that MSFt plans to put out late this year)

cheers
