PB,

Why doesn't AMD just say what the target release MHz is, a la an Intel Roadmap.

They undoubtably are in the midst of speedpath work, and are optimistic about the possibility of higher clock rates.

Intel shifts their target MHz around constantly. They have changed the Celeron MHz targets several times this year already, not to mention PIII.

Can you blame AMD for keeping the K7s perfomance secret?

Would you let everyone know "how it's going" before the release version. This happened to Intel when Tom got some engineering samples that were slow relative to the release versions. Do you care about the beta versions? Elmer is, just in case they aren't up to par. Yousef and Paul too. You wanna be like them? <G>
