Rodney,

How do you rate your experiences with WSS verse Datek? Are you able
to get QUALITY fills during very busy days at market open with WSS?

There have been a lot of problems with Datek's ability to function at
market open if there is ANY kind of market volume as of late. Is US
Clearing any better?

If you place a limit order with WSS, is it display immediately thru US
Clearing's MM(?) if it represents the NBBO?

TIA, nick

Good post. Do you trade options with them?? If so, how are their option commissions, executions, margin requirements for eg put writing? Thanks.

Who owns US Clearing? I originally saw them as the clearing house for Quick and Reilley and thought they were owned by them, but may be wrong.

Bordelon,

Thanks!! Sounds like you've done your research. I'd like to know the names of the other brokerage firms you like and what you like best about them. Also you peeves about each would be helpful too, if you have the time. I think this kind of survey by a demanding daytrader can be even more useful than Barron's Annual Survey of Online Brokerage Firms.

Are we talking about WebStreet?

I, too, have accounts with different brokers. WebStreet is by far the worst. Their service levels have slowly deteriorated over the past year. Recently, they were down for the majority of two trading days. I called their broker to place an order and he said that his system was down as well. I have also experienced serious balance miscalculations on days that they were up which affected my buying power, etc. Their customer service was equally unhelpful here as well.

When I first signed up with WSS, I could always talk to a very courteous, helpful broker. Not so today.

Reporting on execution varies anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes. I have never experienced the fast reporting of executions that others have spoken of here on this thread. However, I only trade 3 or 4 times a week. So, perhaps others are better suited to speak to their reporting capabilities.
