Tony,

I've read enough of the analysts reports and other press clippings to believe that there was some expectation of higher revenues. As nobody collects, digests and spits out a consensus estimate on this kind of thing, that it purely MY OPINION, but one which is grounded in my own research.

> Intel said that revenues were within their guidance

Which doesn't mean that a lot of people didn't expect them to do better anyway, really all it means is that it would be tough to file a sharehoder suit for misleading statements.

Several years ago I worked for Intel, and might have had the same reaction. These days, I'm a lot more realistic. This is about making money, NOT something personal. I disagree with Niles and he's cost me some money. But would I pull all my money out of good investments just to "punish" his company? Not a chance. That's known as "cutting off your nose to spite your face."

Tony, It is unusual how Dan Niles basically said sell the stock---he should not have kept it as "attractive" considering this morning on CNBC all he said was basically sell sell sell. He is basically saying that the PC business is going to die a painfull death. He should have sell ratings the PC stocks considering how negative he was.

A lot of the other analysts maintained their ratings. Intel might be one stock that is now shielded from further selloffs due to its PE.
