We believe this technology makes WDM affordable for implementation within Metro Networks." The six-slot modular design of the GFS3016 can support a maximum port density of 16-Gigabit Ethernet ports, 62 10/100Base-TX ports or 32 100Base-FX ports. The GFS3016 is currently shipping and has been successfully installed in several Japanese government institutions and universities. It offers both layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing and provides more than 2 million packets per second of IP routing with full support for standard routing protocols such as OSPF and RIP. The GFS3016 Switch Router is available immediately. List price starts at $9,995 for a base configuration. Currently shipping - therefore a small positive impact on Q2.
