Yo_W Sheffield................I posted that I think Ciena will trade less than 14 a share by market close tomorrow, and though I may be off on my timing I still think a fall below 14 is immanent. Ciena going forward will show losses and the products they base their bussiness on will become commoditized (Lucent-Nortel-Pirelli- etc)in the near future. I think the current spike up in price is due to overall market conditions and not anything specifically related to Ciena--BWTHDIK!

Salude and good trading to all Ciena traders - Norman!

<<what is the upward resistance?>>
Well, we KNOW there is resistance at 29 1/4, but CIEN is not likely to reach that again without one or two intermediate stages, IMO. 14? Load my wagon up full if we dip down that low!!!
The Omnia and Lightera deals look to me like good long-term moves by a company that intends to compete. CIEN may still get bought, I suppose, but that does not appear to be part of the current business plan, IMO again.
