did you go thru the order process...add a 17" monitor, and ms office 97...and you are charged an upfront adder of $650..this is a great deal!!!!

greg: is the gobi deal at all real? If it is, then I could understand an aol/dell deal in which basically aol underwrites the cost, and dell profits from its normal pricing. Please pardon me if this has been talked about.

Re: the Gobi deal. Since you can get free internet access nowadays, why would you pay $932 (at least) = 36*$26 for a $500 computer? Sounds like you're leasing a computer to me and getting the internet access for free.
