If your claim has not been settled against Waterhouse I would strongly recommend you go for NASD or NYSE arbitration.

I love Schwab... $30 per trade minimum, or per 1000 shares... in 15 months NOT ONE problem with access even in fast trade hours... excellent phone service that might require two minute wait in fast times... liberal margin maintenance... decent research access... NOT ONE problem with execution, except maybe an occasional split of your order with partial fills at different prices spaced by a few minutes

got custom service for frequent traders and larger accounts... I call them "gang of 12" where I got to know a few of them, ask by name, even had lengthy confab with their manager (smart sharp guy)

heard friends complain about Fidelity, with tough website, poor fast hour access, and absurd margin reqmts

FWIW, jim
