I am moving to Schwab as fast as I can, but even with that, Waterhouse is playing a game of limiting the "run on the bank" by holding up DTC's and ACATS as much as 45 days. You put the order in, they put your account into lockup and then hold it for 45 days. I would guess they feel by doing this, they can discourge you from moving in that they seize and hold all securities during this period and you cannot trade them while the move is on.

It seems to just get from bad to VERY VERY worse.

got custom service for frequent traders and larger accounts.

I am very happy with Schwab. I have the "large account" service, it is fast, friendly and no problems.

I pay a little more than the on line boys, but when I read about the problems a lot of you are having, and add In the fact that I make about 2 trades a month max, I think I am well off.
