Well .. with the DJIA up 70 ... the trin looks pretty awful at this time . Can't access some of my other stuff .. but this move up doesn't look like it can continue from the bit I can see......

I wonder if someone could answer a conundrum I have. If adv/dec is a lagging indicator, then does the current improvement mean the market has strength, or because of longtime weakness, do the market indices have to reflect that weakness before the improved stats kick-in ?? .

Or is it just a confirmation not a predictor indicator ??.

Don, re:mwd analyst: i have to say that i'd rather listen to the market than to some analyst. and the market is saying right now that commodity prices are about to recover. the basic material stocks *always* start running ahead of such a recovery. the bear market in commodities has been so deep and prolonged that it is reasonable to expect a sharp turn upward. i'll eat my hat if it doesn't happen.
