O.K. all of you. Enough of this "advoidance" behavior...Go file your tax returns...<ggg>

And I suggest if you are due a refund on TY98 or another (prior) tax year that you file those returns sooner rather than later...No need to ask why.

You have to read this in full to appreciate it:

>>>The problem for many corporate customers is that to receive a free year 2000-ready version of a vendor's software, customers have to be using the most current version. "Many customers don't, and it's a big problem," Ross said. For example, about one-third of all corporate users are still running Windows 3.1 and haven't upgraded to Windows 95, Windows 97 or Windows 98 applications, Tarter said.

Ooops...Now flatsville knows that just a few years ago in a large midwestern city a big bad-ass law firm armed its' attorneys with lap tops to increase their efficiency (and carefully log their billable hours not doubt.) This was kind of a radical step for this conservative school of sharks with their multi-million/billion dollar corporate client base. (We're not talking the office staff here...Hey, you OLD GUYS!...Yeah, YOU!...Put down that law book and pick up that CD and that squarish black thing there!) About this same time the local monthly city news/feature magazine did a feature on the firm and discussed the plan striking fear into the hearts of would-be plaintiffs and inspiring confidence among the firm's clients. flatsville, as a lobbyist and named plaintiff in any number of class action suits, often wondered what would happen when she would have to sit through proceedings where her pathetic, badly dressed, poorly equipped pro bono attorneys went up against "THE FIRM" with their designer suits, legions of office staff and brand new shiny lap tops. All this happened during the waning days of Windows 3.1. flatsville saw the ad for the project director/coordinator (or whatever the title was of this yet to be hired individual was) in the IT section of the local classifieds so she knew they weren't bluffing. Oh cr*p.

Fast-forward to the present, more or less. flatsville went back home for a visit within the past few months and picked up the Sunday paper. She looked at the IT classifieds...And there my friends...yes, THERE was essentially the SAME ADD I saw 3 1/2-4 years ago seeking to fill the SAME position with someone...yes, believe it or not...with WINDOWS 3.1 experience. Ooops...Go figure...ROTFLMAO
