Freeus,

Oh, well if you've already gone thru the manual, then ya, go ahead and give tech support a call.

The saying was for the techies when we used to get a new toy, we would just open it up and fire it up (leaving the pretty manuals in its wraping). Only when we get absolutly stumped we would give the manuals a try. :)

I did put in Windows 98 at least!!!!
I thought I saw on the Dell Web site that Windows 98 was not compatible with Norton Anti-Virus. I think they have a patch for either windows or Norton. I forget the details but I think a search for Norton in the Dell Web site will show up something (or ask jeeves).
TP

You mean that Windows 98 didn't come already installed on the laptop?
I am truly surprised at that, if so.

Like the screen name - took me a while to 'get it' but then I am slow anyway... (g) Free us free us. Working in Chicago this week training the EPA people on some database stuff... a bit bored right now and ready to go home. good luck with the laptop
