I'm sure that when TV came out that nobody thought it could make money or provide any true value beyond some minimal entertainment... I mean just sending signals out on the open air waves - what business opportunties could there be there??? Then along came advertising! The shopping channel! Dial 1-800-xxxx to buy the latest offering from Time-Life!

Have you seriously looked at the internet auction sites? Do you see all the people bidding "real money" for all different types of merchandise? Or do you just think it is all pretend?

Not all of the sights will be winners... but there will be some.

Your words:

"As I said before, I still think there is a physical need for buyers to handle something before purchase, I consider it a security or piece of mind issue. Catalogue, direct mail, TV, and Internet shopping can't provide that."

Please check your facts. Sears-Roebuck's Catalogue, when introduced in the United States in the late 1800s, caused a dramatic change in the retail arena.

As Dave Kiernan said, LL Bean and a host of other cataloguers probably do 99 percent of their business without anyone touching teh merchandise prior to buying. LL Bean has been doing it for decades.
