>>>Please check your facts. Sears-Roebuck's Catalogue, when introduced in the United States in the late 1800s, caused a dramatic change in the retail arena. <<<

I don't want to get into a debate about this, but there's also the point that our malls are overcrowded and they're constantly building bigger supermalls in every major city. With the prevalence of catalogs and TV shopping, wouldnt you think that people would not bother going to the mall because of inconvenience? Fact of the matter is that it's an experience and many things you simply don't want to be buying without physically seeing/touching/trying on.

Having said all that, I do believe that online buying will be going through the roof. I do not however believe that they will replace traditional retail buying -- they will only supplement. My opinions only.

I hate the mall. I never shop there. I am a musician and I purchased my whole studio online. There are two types of purchasers on the web. One kind knows what they want, and use the Web to find the best deals. The other kind, buy things on impulse. Your concept doesn't reflect this at all.

Yes, that was fine for the 1800's. How's it done lately? In Canada there are virtually no catalogue stores left.
